Yesterday, Jen, Ebby & I arose to the cock's crow, hopped into her mini van and headed west to New York state. Goal: to visit the Earth Angel Toys Spring Fling in Saratoga Springs AND Jen's college roommate at her Averill Park abode. We're all punctual, so we departed on time - got to the show - visual treat!!
Made a few purchases - went to lunch in Saratoga Spring at Scallions (a mecca for Sticks furniture!!); a stop at Hobby Lobby (not yet in MA) back to Kathy & John's where the 4 teens/preteens had slathered themselves with MUD - something about skin care - to relax on their House Beautiful porch, pet their 2 cats, 2 dogs, eat a delish dinner and toast s'mores in a giant bonfire. Did I say they live in the country?? A 9 pm swim in a Hollywood lighted pool, my day was complete!! Jen did all the driving - me I did all the enjoying (I think she & Ebby did too as Kathy & John and Julia, Caroline and Ruby are VERY good friends!!)
Jen indulged me with a detour to Ballston Spa (next town to Saratoga which houses a Bottle Museum among other attractions) to view the garden of Kerry Mendez, garden writer and lecturer. Kerry wasn't home but we snapped a few pics of her small but well designed gardens (and no we didn't trespass!)
